In an effort to make sustainable space brick that can be used for construction on the lunar surface, the scientists of IISc (Indian Institute of Science) and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), have developed a method to use urea and lunar soil as the raw materials for the construction. This sustainable space brick consists of lunar soil, bacteria, urea and Guar beans. These will help in consolidating the soil and then the construction of load-bearing structures will take place. During this process of construction, two different fields, biology and mechanical engineering will come together to make the project successful.
