Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference is set to run from June 22 to June 26.
Generally, the event is a big occasion. The 2018 conference in California was with around 6000 people attending it.
2020 is a different year with a different story. This year the event will be held over the internet.
The WWDC mainly gives software developers a new look at Apple’s technology, this helps them to come up with ideas as to how to work with it. The company many times unveil new products at the conference.
It is expected that this year Apple will announce its first step in a shift that is set to take over portable computing. The computers will be based on ARM architecture.
Since 2006, the apple chip development group has grown disappointed with the improvements in the Intel chips.
ARM-based systems use a different language to computers. This is based on the dominant Intel x86 and x64 architectures.
The ARM processor is also used in Microsoft’s Surface Pro X ($1699) convertible. A special version of Windows is also optimized for them.
ARM processors are used in smartphones and tablets. But the ones used in Mac Computers, iPads, and iPhones are not expected to change the processors.
So changing the processor architecture that powers its computers, would be a big move for Apple.
