Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the world’s largest vaccination drive through a video conferencing session while addressing the frontline workers of the nation. The vaccination is planned to be carried out by the two made in India vaccines named “Covishield” by Serum Institute of India and “Covaxin” by the home based Bharat Biotech.

Around 100 people in each of the 3,006 centres spread across the country will be receiving the first shot of their vaccination against the Covid-19. The government of India has given priority to the 30 million health workers and other front line workers, followed by nearly 270 million senior citizens and the high-risk individuals.
