On Monday ICMR termed a news report as ‘misleading’. The news report indicated a study by the government body announcing that in India COVID 19 peak may arrive by mid-November.

Researchers from an Operations Research Group constituted by ICMR conducted a study, about which PTI report on Sunday referred. According to the report, the peak stage of COVID-19 has been halted by the 8 weeks lockdown and public health measures. Now it is expected to rise in mid-November when there could be fewness of isolation and ICU beds and even ventilators.
According to reports, the lockdown has shifted the spread of COVID-19 by 34 to 76 days and that helped to bring down the number of infected cases from 67% to 97%. This has given time to healthcare systems to work on resources and infrastructure.
In the same time On Monday, the country recorded 11000 COVID-19 cases for the third consecutive day, taking the total number of infections to 3.32 lakh, while the toll rose to 9,520 with 325 more deaths.
The number of active case in the city due to COVID-19 are1,53,106. The officials said the recovery rate is 51.07 percent.
