Anika Chebrolu, an eighth-grader, Indian American bags the title of America’s top young scientist with the grand prize amounting $25,000 in the 3M Young Scientist Challenge. The 14-year-old of Nelson Middle School in Frisco attempted to find the possible cure of the deadly novel coronavirus.
Anika used an in-silico methodology for the discovery of the drug, to know about the molecule that can be bind the Spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Today, the United States is the worst affected country in the world, with 2,19,679 deaths, and 81,55,894 confirmed cases of infection. Anika is highly motivated and is looking forward to be a medical researcher and professor in the future.
