The emerging digital currency bitcoin has touched a new landmark on Friday. The total value of currency presently in circulation across the world has crossed the mark of one trillion dollars i.e Rs 72.73 lakh crore. As per the Coinbase, single bitcoin is valued near 55,000 dollars at the present and nearly 18.6 million units are in circulation.
Created by an unknown individual in 2009 using Satoshi Nakamoto, the cryptocurrency bitcoin has attracted the market’s attention with the passing time and is nearly read to be part of the payments ecosystem around the world. As per the CNN, the corporate America is validating the digital currency along with the active involvement of the giants like Square, PayPal, Visa and the Mastercard.
Witnessing the surge of more than 80% in the prices of the bitcoins in the year so far the investors are also scooping other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and the Dogecoin. Ethereum being the second most popular digital currency worth 220 billion dollars has registered a growth of more than double this year along with the skyrocketing price of the dogecoin.
