On its day third of the world’s largest vaccination drive, India has vaccinated a total of 3,81,305 individuals as of 18th January 2021 and 7,704 sessions have been carried out at the various health centers spread across the country.
As per PIB, among all the vaccinated individuals 580 adverse event following immunization cases have been reported across the country in these three days. Out of the 580 cases 573 were minor AEFI cases i.e pain, mild swelling at the injection site, mild fever, body ache, nausea, giddiness and mild allergic reactions like rashes, etc. The remaining 7 cases were of serious AEFI which were hospitalized.
- Delhi (3 cases) – 2 discharged and 1 is under observation at Max Hospital, Parparganj.
- Uttarakhand (1 case) – is stable and is under observation at AIIMS Rishikesh.
- Chhattisgarh (1 case) – is under observation at Govt. Medical College, Rajnandgaon.
- Karnataka (2 cases) – 1 is fine and is under observation at District Hospital, Chitradurga and the 2nd case is under observation at General Hospital, Challakere, Chitradurga.
