Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das said, the Indian economy is much stronger than during the time of the global financial crisis a decade back. The RBI governor informed that even during a pandemic, the economy of the country remains strong. He also informed that various factors were positive for the economy like improved debt-to-gross domestic product ratio, in-check fiscal deficit, well-controlled inflation and better current accounts. Though the same stability is not seen in the banking sector, and the country needs to work in this sector to get more financial stability. Das emphasised on the risk management practices and better governance culture at the banks.
