India’s cricketing legend and the first ever World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev has gone a successful angioplasty surgery at the New Delhi’s Fortis hospital on Friday. The former captain was hospitalised after complaining chest pain on Friday at 1:00 am. The 61 year old is considered one of the finest all-rounders that the game has ever witnessed. The emergency department of the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute performed the coronary surgery on him at the middle of the night.
Later in the evening, Kapil Dev twitted about his health and thanked for the love and support for his well-being.

Earlier as the news of him being hosptalised spread, all his fans, followers and colleagues wished him health and speedy recovery, among the first to wish was his 1983 World Cup winning teammate Madan lal.
