Today early morning the news of the demise of one more Bollywood gem shook the entertainment fraternity. Since then all the fans and the colleges have been expressing their grief for the Bollywood star.
Saroj Khan also known as “The mother of Dance/Choreography in India” was among the best Bollywood choreographers, who had choreographed hundreds of Bollywood hit songs, has died at the age of 71. She died from a cardiac arrest at Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai on Friday. Narendra Sharma, one of her doctors reported, Khan had been suffering from diabetes and was undergoing dialysis and was battling an infection, which eventually led to cardiac arrest. He further added that Khan had twice been tested for Covid-19 but both the test reports were negative.
As per reports, the last rites of Saroj Khan were performed at Malvani in Malad, Mumbai today at 7 am and Saroj Khan’s daughter revealed that the prayer meet for her mother will be held after three days.
Saroj Khan (22nd November,1948), born in Maharashtra (then known as Bombay State) was one of the most famous Indian dance choreographers in Hindi cinema. She started her career as a background dancer at the age of three, she got her first break as a choreographer with Geeta Mera Naam in 1974, and has won National Award three times.
In almost 40 years of her career she has choreographed almost 2000 songs. She has mentored a lot of talented actor and actress of Bollywood in some of the best hits of the era like “Dola Re Dola” from the movie “Devdas“, “Yeh Ishq Haye“, “Jab We Met “ and several other Bollywood masterpieces. She had also worked alongside late performer Sridevi in several titles, including “Mr. India“, “Chandni” and “Lamhe” and choreographed Madhuri Dixit in lot of her songs.
Saroj khan’s last song was with Madhuri dixit “tabaah ho gaye” from movie “Kalank”. She had also judged numerous no of dance reality shows.
