Its the third time in a year when Netflix is going to appoint a new chief marketing officer in less than one year. The company has now appointed marketing veteran Bozoma Saint John as the chief marketing officer.
Bozoma has previously worked as a senior executive with Apple, Uber, and recently Endeavor.
She has replaced the Nextflix’s 10 months, Jackie Lee Joe. According to the report, Lee is leaving the company for personal reasons.
Lee was appointed in place of Netflix CMO Kelly Bennett, who announced his retirement from the company last year.
Chief content officer Ted Sarandos reported that Bozoma will join the company in August.
Bozoma said, as quoted, “I’m thrilled to join Netflix, especially at a time when storytelling is critical to our global, societal well-being. I feel honored to contribute my experience to an already dynamic legacy, and to continue driving engagement in the future.”
Netflix in 2019 stimulated marketing by spending 12% to $2.65 billion, as it faced new streaming. But if we consider the budget of the company for the year 2020 the company’s budget has lowered down to 18% when compared to the previous one.
