A Norwegian lawmaker has proposed the name of American president Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize 2021, for brokering the historic peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates last month. The list of nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize 2021 is required to be sent to the Norwegian Committee by January 31st. Earlier the same lawmaker had proposed the Trump’s name in 2018, after his summit with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Till now 21 Americans have received the Nobel Peace Prize and the most recent one was received by Barack Obama in 2009. It is to be noted that following the tradition, the names and other information of nominees for the peace prize are not to be disclosed.
