Tushar Mehta, who appeared for DoT said that the telecom companies have no right to sell then Spectrum, as it is the assets of the Government. This whole argument came forward for companies like Aircel, RCom and various others who have been undergoing the liquidation process. The telecom companies count spectrum as the liability of worth Rs.49 crores. The Supreme Court has now asked about the plans of Government for the recovery of the AGR dues if they wish to save spectrum. The court has also informed that if the government fails to explain the things, then it might not have a spectrum with it, as they are already too late to file the case against the same. The court has kept the decision pending up to 14 August 2020.
