The researchers at IIT- Madras have successfully initialized the country’s indigenously developed Microprocessor chip ‘ Moushik‘. The chip is made focusing the IoT devices to be designed and fabricated in India. Moushik is a processor cum SoC (System on chip) i.e as a processor it can perform the instructions and along with it different components can be attached to it like a SoC.
The chip is the third one of the series of six computer chips which are to be designed and developed as part of the Shakti Microprocessor programme. These chips can be used in EVMs, security cameras, Credit cards, advanced safe locks, health monitoring system and the IoT devices.
