Following India’s footsteps, UAE has become the second country in the history to successfully enter into the Mars orbit in its very first try. With this achievement, UAE has also become the first Arab country to reach the planet.
The mission named “Hope probe”, reached the destination at 7:42 p.m., Tuesday of the Emirates time. The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre confirmed the achievement after receiving the signal back to earth by the probe to its ground control unit.

The probe successfully witnessed its tensed 27 minutes in which the speed was drastically reduced from 121,000 km/h to 18,000/h using its six thrusters for the duration. The key maneuver consumed it is almost half of the fuel, guiding the mission to be caught by the gravity of the planet.
